Elite Quintet of Rome furnished the wonderful music that evening, and
Daddy chose the tunes. They had begun playing during the appetizer buffet,
as the guests were arriving, and my friend Francesca told me that night
that as she approached the villa, the view of it with the music she could
hear from the lawn made her think of Gatsby's mansion. It wasn't the Charleston
that the band was playing, but the reference to one of my favorite works
of literature left me thrilled.
